Tarte Shapetape Foundation Review | Makeup Reviews Blogger | Madison Fashion Blogger

I meant to get this review up a few weeks ago but hey, I'm pregnant and we just moved a little over a month ago so the fact that this is going up at all is a miracle!!

Now, I have tried the shapetape concealer

and honestly, it's nice. It's mostly nice because it has INSANE coverage while not feeling heavy or cakey. Something that's rarely combined *well* in a concealer. I do not currently own the shapetape concealer because of the shade range. It was either way too light on me, or too dark (like my skin shade) and didn't look right. So I returned it. It made me quite sad, as I did not want to have to mix shades.

Moving on to the foundation. When I heard they were coming out with BOTH matte moisturizing *at the same time* I was pretty impressed.

I bought the moisturizing one because I am dry skinned and here's my take on it:

  • Coverage is amazing, pretty full coverage
  • Does not feel heavy
  • Molecules are small and lays beautifully on the skin
  • Does not cake up throughout the day
  • Does not overly oxidize dark

  • The applicator is so dumb, it takes forever to get the foundation on
  • Shade range is crap.

So, overall, if you are a dry skinned individual or you love a dewy full coverage foundation - go try it out! Would love to hear how you like it! Now, this is a foundation that you won't be able to get a sample of due to the applicator but you can definitely have it swatched on you in the store to find your right shade. Which I highly suggest!
